Jigsaw Infrared is proud to announce their patnership with Genius Hub
Throughout 2020 Jigsaw Infrared and Genius Hub had been installing and testing a range of one another’s equipment for domestic and commercial heating. The mutual decision was taken to cement that partnership.
Midland Based Companies Supporting Mutual Growth
The companies were introduced to one another after both had completed research with David Terry and his team at ATETA through the University of Birmingham in early 2020. Jigsaw had been searching for a reliable and innovative control system for their heaters for a number of years. It just so happens that Genius are the ones and they are located just a few miles away in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham. The control system developed by Genius allows many different permutations for the installation of the UK manufactured infrared heaters. The equipment can be completely hidden from the room and controlled by the APP. Or, it can be controlled by a thermostat on the wall. The real benefit that makes the Infrared Heating system ‘sing’ is the ability of the room to be monitored for motion. Simple put, if there is no one in the room and no motion, why heat it? The Genius room sensor can measure heat and motion. The system can be set to a fall back temperature of 15º/16º and then be boosted to 19º/20º when there is someone present in the room. On initial tests this has shown savings of 20% on the heating bills in a domestic environment. A recent study at The Belfry Hotel, Birmingham showed that this figure was 60% in a commercial setting. The key combination with a infrared heating panel means that the panels can respond in minutes, warming the occupant first. The room air temperature can then be achieved making the space feel comfortable very quickly.
Country and European Installations
During the last twelve months the combination of Jigsaw infrared heaters and Genius’ control systems have been installed in a wide variety of spaces. There have been a lot of installations on domestic properties. The feedback has been extremely positive. Clients have noted how easy the system is to use and how responsive the equipment is. Jigsaw’s commercial customers have mentioned how useful it has been to control buildings like churches with a single app. The heating can be set to the required temperature for each individual room. In a large space the IR equipment warms the rooms up fast and the motion sensor responds to the last person leaving. Meaning that there is no wasted energy.
A Patnership Made on Innovation
Jigsaw’s MD, Matt Billington, has noted that “there is still more for us to do with the partnership. Both companies want to keep on innovating. We already have two research and development projects that are ongoing. These will provide further energy savings to all of our clients.” The equipment is currently undergoing efficiency tests at Aston University. The data will provide a comparison to a wide variety of other heating sources. More information will be available shortly. The partnership is already showing positive signs. Equipment from both companies is being installed together across a number of sites in Coventry City Council.
