The owners of a farmhouse and barn approached us to help them with heating their barn conversion for a holiday let. The couple were looking to ensure they could have a heating system which would benefit from the solar panels they were going to be installing. Plans were sent to Jigsaw and we helped them with heating their new build.
When the project began, the building was just a shell. Very quickly the build took on shape and the electricians began adding the wiring for the new heaters.
The benefits of using infrared heating for the barn means the customer can fully control the heating throughout the day with each room being independently controllable. The result is money savings in the long run.
Very happy with our new IR heating system installed in one of our holiday cottages. The level of control I now have is incredibly useful for saving energy (money!) and yet keeping our guests warm and comfortable. Many often remark on the ceiling panels and how well they work. Tailored Infrared Installation

On the right, the clients decided they wanted to balance the room with an aluminium ceiling panel and a mirror infrared heater on the wall.
Both of these heaters are available in a range of colours and wattages. They can also be combined with a number of optional features. These include thermostats with touchscreen and remote controls to enable you to adjust the temperature of the room from the comfort of your sofa.

Infrared Installation
A number of infrared heating panels were chosen for the installation.
Lounge: 3 x 800W panels white
Bedrooms 1: 1 x 800W panel white
Bedroom 2: 1 x 800W panel white
Hallway: 1 x 1000W panel white
Kitchen: 2 x 1000W panels white
Jigsaw also organised the removal of the property’s existing storage heaters.
To deliver energy efficiency, reliability and a high level of comforting heat to every part of the villa, infrared heating panels were chosen for the installation:
Comforting Heat: Firstly, infrared technology heats objects rather than the air. The result is that panels deliver a much greater level of comforting heat.
Installation: Secondly, they are easily integrated with the current electrics. All cabling is hidden away and fully mounted safely.
Reliability: Next, the infrared panels require zero maintenance in comparison to typical convection heaters and boilers as they have no moving parts.
Repair: Finally, in circumstances where maintenance to the property may be required, the panels can simply be unplugged from the wall and plugged back in after repairs.
The whole installation was completed over a 3 days – with minimum disruption.
The new heaters have achieved the owners goals of a simple but effective heating system. This has offered a higher level of efficiency and comfort for their property. Since the conversion, the owner has noted that the heating only needs to be on around 16 degrees to achieve the same comfort levels of a property at 20 degrees. The use of the panels has been problem-free and no maintenance issues have been reported.
